Sidereus Lore: The Festival of Hilaria

Celebrated by devotees of Endëllion, Hilaria is the a festival of luck, humor and mirth that is celebrated around Sidereus on the 1st day of Nasreen.

While the primary purpose of this day is feasting and celebration in honor of the Lord of Luck, HIlaria has also been dedicated to Elaria - Angelic Prince of Endëllion that it is rumored he has a romantic relationship with. Elaria is often called "Lady Luck" and is generally considered to be Endëllion's chief lieutenant in charge of governing the force majeure of Luck itself.

Pranks and hoaxes are commonly practiced during this time, often times by priests and devotees of Endëllion. These pranks included having paper fish placed on their backs and being referred to as "rose fish", said to symbolize a young, easily caught fish and a gullible person. These fish are often painted red. In some instances, small candies are made in the shape of red fish and left in various places in a person's belongings as part of this prank. Hilaria remains one of the only holiday events where talented pickpockets will use their skill to put things *into* another person's belongings.
